As a Phoenix of old, but with added frog, Paakwa is reborn, to bring you news of our beloved and most deserving public servants - especially those who forget that they are our servants, not our masters.
Sorry to have been away for so long, but there’s been no limit to the amount of public money that some of those at CDC are willing to spend in futile attempts to clear the world of one little frog!
But more of that later, along with just how desperately some at CDC wanted to have little Paakwa removed from the scene.
For now we return with a tale of good cheer, one to have you whooping and hurrahing. - Do you remember Gill Dixon?

Click on picture to see Gill as she was at CDC

Gill was, of course the ex- Chief Executive of Craven District Council, who left with- or so it was rumoured - a payoff of the order of £¼ million or around 4 times her salary.

She’s had an interesting career over the last few years, some details appear to be HERE, but we all know our high speed leader and his praise of her “dedication and professionalism.”
He also stated that “There was no suggestion of any misconduct,” and “Gill has made us more efficient.”
That would be by increasing staff numbers by 23% and her own salary by 37% of course.

You might even remember Gill stating that CDC would be moving into new offices along Gargrave Road as part of the HML deal - wonder what happened to that?
Perhaps it’s cheaper to lease an old mill with hardly any parking than to have nice new offices with lots of parking free of charge. “£4Million well spent there councillors” says Paakwa!
Or perhaps you remember her boasting about the new and improved bus station?

Anyway, rejoice fellow citizens, let the carillons resound - or at least tinkle!
For Gill has returned to Yorkshire, or so your little froggy amigo has been informed, to a nice director’s position at Bradford Metro!

Paakwa hopes that Bradford can afford to pay the lady enough to prevent the loss of one so dedicated and professional, it might be remembered that the lady asked for more from CDC before leaving by “mutual agreement.”
Of course such an amount is trivial these days, the new chief executive requires an income of £100,000/annum and a deputy to aid him in his endeavours. Paakwa is told that the cost of Cuban heels has rocketed due to exchange values, although what this can have to do with anything is unknown.

Of course Gill came to Craven from Bradford way back in 2003, maybe, if we all pray very hard, she’ll consent to join us again? Would that not be wonderful?

We can only hope that the council leader will ‘study job a bit’ and ask her.
